Innovative gas solutions made easy with Slide and Tighten technology by Philmac. The Philmac gas compression range for secure gas connections every time.
Slide and Tighten
Installation could not be easier. Simply push the stiffener into the pipe, then insert the pipe into the fitting until the first point of resistance. Finally tighten the nut up to the flange of the fitting body. No pipe preparation is needed and no force is required to push the pipe pas the seal.
Ease of Repair
Repair is made simple with Philmac Gas compression fittings. Installation is easy and once completed there is no need to let the joint cure or cool down. Simply make the repair and you can instantly turn the gas supply back on.
No Special Tools or Equipment Required
There is no need for cumbersome, expensive equipment or access to power. There is also no need to prepare the pipe in any way. Simply cut the pipe square and then slide it into the fitting. The only tool required is a standard wrench to tighten the nut.
Rated to 125 PSI
Philmac Gas compression fittings are pressure rated to 125psi to meet the needs to Gas pressure systems.
Strength of Connection
The range of Philmac Gas compression fittings has been designed to ensure that the connection, when properly formed using a stiffener, will exceed the strength of the PE pipe.
Corrosion Protection
All Philmac Gas fittings are made from advanced thermoplastic materials. These materials provide excellent protection against corrosion and there is no need for cathodic protection or protective coating.
Flexibility
Philmac Gas fittings are made for permanent, high-security joints. However, if the need arises, the range allows joints to be re-done. By backing the nut off with a wrench, the pipe can be removed, and the pipe system moved.
Security
Philmac Gas compression fittings are IAPMO UPC approved to ASTM F1924 to ensure peace of mind when using the fittings on gas installations.
Visual Stop
The body flange on the Philmac Gas fitting acts as a visual stop to indicate when the nut is tightened. There is no benefit in further tightening the nut.
Compact Size
The size of the Philmac Gas compression fitting has been kept to a minimum, making the fitting ideal to be used in confined areas.
No Pipe Twist During Installation
The fitting has been designed to minimize pipe twist as the nut is tightened. Pipe twist can impact on not only the connection you have just made but also on the connection at the other end of the line.
No Loose Components
If the nut is loosened there is no danger of losing components, as the collet and seal are retained in the body of the fitting. Losing components in the trench becomes a thing of the past.
